Oh! Arnold has sent us an email from the ship! He says he’s sharing a cabin with one of the crew, although he doesn’t see much of him because the sailor is either on duty or asleep.
Mostly the sea has been quite smooth, although sometimes the ship pitches about a lot in the swell!
Once or twice, it’s been very rough. Arnold says he mostly just goes to bed when it’s like that, so as not to get seasick. Only, sometimes, it’s so rough, the sailor’s snozzle falls out of his bunk!
Arnold likes looking out of the portholes. He’s made friends with a gull.
When the weather is fine, he puts his jacket and scarf on and goes up to the prow to enjoy the sea breezes. He’s been looking out for icebergs, but fortunately, not seen any.
He’s even been up on deck at night to enjoy the stars. He says it’s very peaceful at night when it’s calm, just the thrum of the engines.
